Brenda’s Marvelous Four Layer Delight

Brenda's Marvelous Four Layer Delight

Now, I know I have said that my Cake Brownies will bring a grown man to his knees, but this little treat will possibly do the same and you may get a little something extra out of the deal.  This is sooooo good.

My aunt Brenda made this when I was a bit younger. She is such a neat lady.  If you know Ina Garten on the Food Network (Barefoot Contessa), then you know my aunt, except Brenda has way more personality.  If she throws a birthday party for someone, you will end up walking away with a present as well.  I love this lady.  I have many memories of her and more to go.  We all thought she was the bomb when she made this dessert.  It is named in her honor.

Four Layer Delight

1 C Flour

1/2 C Butter

1/2 C Chopped Pecans

8 oz Cream Cheese

1 C Powder Sugar

1 Small Tub Cool Whip

2 Small Packages Instant Chocolate Pudding

3 C Milk

Melt butter and add flour and pecans.  Spread in 8×8 pan.  Bake at 375 for 15 minutes.  COOL COMPLETELY.  Mix cream cheese, powder sugar and 1 cup of cool whip.  Mix pudding and milk.  Layer crust with cream cheese mixture, then pudding and then the rest of the cool whip.  You can sprinkle chopped chocolate and pecans on top for looks.

This recipe is really wonderful, and truly “delightful”! In a work group when this was served, the lady who always brought it called it “Better than Sex”. No matter what the name, it goes down as a dessert that always pleases!

If im using a 9×13 dish should i double everything?

    • Jamie

You can definitely double it. It may be extra thick, but who minds that? Let me know how it turns out. Enjoy!!
